Biography
Gus Knebel represents land developers and closely held businesses on the transactions that shape their growth: acquisitions and sales, real estate deals, entity formation and restructuring, and the commercial contracts that hold those businesses together.
His clients are owner-operated companies and developers active across the Texas Gulf Coast, ranging from emerging operators to established mid-market businesses. He is particularly effective on deals that touch local government: zoning, permitting, development agreements, municipal contracting, and the regulatory questions that come with building or operating in the City of Galveston, Brazoria, and Galveston County jurisdictions.
That perspective comes from the other side of the table. Gus serves as outside city attorney for the City of La Marque, Texas, which gives him a working knowledge of how Texas municipalities actually function: how decisions get made, where deals get stuck, and how to move them forward.
Beyond transactions, Gus advises businesses on the day-to-day legal questions that come up between deals: contracts, employment matters, vendor relationships, and operational risk. He works closely with clients' accountants, bankers, and other advisors as part of their broader team.
